Privacy policy

Last updated 22 October 2026. This policy covers the Nero Labs tools used from ChatGPT and other AI assistants. The controller is Nero Engine Group Ltd (trading as Nero Labs), England and Wales, founder@neroengine.com.

Categories of personal data we process

• Inputs you choose to send to a tool, only those that tool needs. Depending on the tool these can include email addresses, phone numbers, names or business details inside rows of data, web addresses, company numbers, a UK postcode or a workplace address.
• Usage records: the tool name, the time, whether it worked, row counts, the app's user agent, the country of the request and a one-way hashed request ID. Usage records never contain the data you send or your IP address.

We do not ask for, and you should not send, payment card data, health information, government identifiers or passwords.

Purposes

Inputs are used only to produce the answer to the request you made. Usage records are used to keep the service working, prevent abuse and stay within the free capacity limits. We do not sell data, show ads, build profiles or use your data to train models.

Categories of recipients

• Hosting and processing providers acting for us: Cloudflare (runs the tools) and Apify Technologies s.r.o., Czech Republic (runs some tools as jobs).
• The public source a tool queries for you, with only what that lookup needs: the website you asked about, company registers (Companies House, the Irish CRO, the Polish KRS), domain registries (RDAP), mail servers (to check an email domain), the US Census geocoder (minimum wage address lookups), Google PageSpeed Insights, OpenStreetMap (UK tips), Immigration New Zealand, the Australian Department of Home Affairs and Universalis (Final Fantasy XIV prices).

Retention

• Inputs and results of tools that run inside our service are not stored after the answer is returned.
• Inputs and results of tools that run as Apify jobs are stored in our Apify account and deleted automatically within 30 days.
• Files a tool creates for you (screenshots, downloads, upscaled images, charts) stay at their link for up to 30 days.
• Usage records are deleted after 12 months.

Your controls

You decide what to send: tools only receive what you or your assistant pass in a request, never your conversation history. You can stop using the tools at any time by disconnecting Nero Labs in ChatGPT. Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete data we hold, or object to its use: email founder@neroengine.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). The tools are not intended for children under 13.
